While it no longer inhabits its original E. 16th Street space, Union Square Cafe is still Danny Meyer’s first and oh-so-reputable restaurant, a champion of the nearby greenmarket since the 1980’s, a pioneer of contemporary American cuisine, and a destination for warm hospitality and chef Lena Ciardullo’s creative cooking.
