If you love Chinatown’s August Gatherings, chances are you’ll love Yao, a contemporary take on Cantonese classics from the AG team. (Also, if you haven’t yet been to August Gatherings, get to it.) At Yao, expect to find exciting variations on delicacies like abalone, sea cucumber, and fish maw; standards with unexpected touches, like mapo tofu with lobster; and August Gatherings’ signature fusilli with wild octopus and bone marrow.
