Ox + Tiger
San FranciscoOx + Tiger is a Filipino and Japanese inspired 8-Seat restaurant curated by Chefs EJ Macayan and Hitomi Wada. While living in Chicago, the two sparked the idea of taking the abundant influences of the Philippines flavors and the delicacies of Japanese cuisine to create new and familiar flavors to share.
It started off as dinner for friends into taking a leap of faith in 2018 to officially kick start Ox + Tiger as a pop-up restaurant. In 2019 EJ spearheaded Ox+ Tiger full time and started to share the collaborative efforts to all. When the pandemic hit all of us in 2020, they had to say their goodbye’s to tasting services and the fulfillment of being able to connect with their customers through food. They were forced to shift their model to take outs, meal kits and outdoor pop-ups just to survive through the thick of the pandemic.
Fast forward to December 2021, they sealed the deal with their brick and mortar at 552 Jones. Their 8 seat chef’s counter only restaurant allows them to also host and build bridges across the counter through food. Ox + Tiger is currently offering tasting menus that pull from different upbringings and find a cohesive foundation that has people leaving the table full.
Booking Policy:
Your reservation can be adjusted or cancelled for a full refund with 24 hours notice in advance. This includes decreasing the number of your party. Should your plans change within 24 hours from your reservation, you can transfer the reservation to someone else. Cancellation requests must be made via email (hello@oxandtiger.co) or via phone (415) 992-3827.
